Nala the cat smiles at the shelter, hoping someone will notice her. A true Dutch Samaritan found Nala the cat when she was pregnant very much. The nice stray was in labor, but she was having trouble delivering her kittens.

Then she was rushed to a vet hospital where she had a c-section of emergency — one of her two kittens survived. They were taken in by Dierenbescherming, a group for animal protection in the Netherlands, so they could have a chance to have a better life.

Her kitten has grown healthy, independent young cat over the next few weeks and has since found an eternal home. Nala has also flourished, being in a safe environment around people.

She loves everybody she meets in the shelter, and when someone passes by her apartment, she comes running. She gets excited when she spots a visitor and begins to meow for her immediate attention. She makes sure you notice her through her endearing personality by standing up against the window of glass, staring right at you with a big smile on her face. She will rub against you if you sit down with her and greet you as her friend.

When she’s with a human friend, Nala becomes the happiest little girl. Each time Ineke visits the shelter, the little love bug that is excited for some cuddle time welcomes her. “A house with a (fenced) garden would be the perfect home for her, with people who are a lot at home and who have no problem with their special diet,” Ineke said. “She’s all right with other cats, but she’ll need to feed individually.”

Nala’s love doesn’t make distinctions— she’s both like humans and furry. She is still quite a kitten at the heart, about two years of age, energetic and rambunctious. She enjoys to lie down on a warm lap or cuddle with a friend when she needs a nap. Nala, who is in the shelter with the most radiant smile, can’t wait to find a place to call her own. She continues to bring smiles to all who come to visit from now on, spreading joy.
