These beautiful animals are able to communicate via different types of sounds to warn of possible dangers and to call their children. Like us humans, they are terribly fond of playing and are also able to show emotions.

In Le Sanctuaire des éléphants in Tennessee, USA, live sick and elderly female elephants, who find a safe and extensive facility there where they can spend their last days and are at the same time surrounded by experts who help them with their personal needs.

Currently 10 elephants live in this protected area, which is not open to the public, so they can play together in peace.

Unable to walk

Each elephant has its own friend, but one elephant, Tara, has built a very special friendship – with a dog called Bella. The two are a heart and a soul.

One day, however, Bella injured her back, so she could no longer walk and had to go to a special treatment centre for three weeks to get better.

Tara was completely upset because she saw Bella suffer – and she didn’t want to let her friend down.

For three weeks, Tara stood in front of the treatment center waiting for Bella to come out to play instead of romping around in the 1800 square meter area.
