She helps pair up the homeless dogs with rescue and adoption organizations across the United States, but now she has gone above and beyond for these pups in wake of Hurricane Dorian.

At a dangerous Category 5, Hurricane Dorian swept through the Bahamas, destroying everything in its path. While some people evacuated to safer areas and others locked themselves in their homes, hundreds of stray dogs roamed the island with nowhere to go.

Phillips knew a lot of the dogs may be too scared to stay at the refuge alone, so she decided to bring 97 of the less fortunate ones into her home to keep them safe. The remaining dogs at the refuge are barricaded in with the air conditioning running, as well as music to keep them calm.

Phillips posted photos on Facebook, which show the rooms of her house packed with all different breeds and sizes of dogs. The post has gone viral with more than 51,000 likes and 34,000 shares.

Phillips wrote that although it’s been a long night, cleaning up after the dogs non-stop, it is all worth it to make sure they’re safe.
